Kenneth H. Keefe earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Florida State University, after which he earned a Master of Arts degree in International Affairs from The American University in Washington, D.C. Mr. Keefe graduated from New York Law School, after which he worked as a congressional aide on Capitol Hill, which then led to a prestigious, one-year fellowship grant by the “German Academic Exchange Service’s Young Lawyers Program” in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Mr. Keefe began his legal career in Washington, D.C., serving first as a federal attorney in the Department of the Treasury’s U.S. Customs Service, after which he was recruited and hired by Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, a boutique law firm specializing in import-export law, with a focus on developing and implementing global sourcing strategies for clients engaged in off-shore manufacturing.
In the early 1990′s, building upon his international business law background and German language skills, Mr. Keefe was appointed by the U.S. President and confirmed by the Senate to a diplomatic post in the U.S. Department of Commerce in Germany. In this capacity, Mr. Keefe promoted United States business and export interests in Germany, especially in the medical and telecommunications industries.
Following his foreign service assignment, Mr. Keefe served as Of-Counsel to Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell in Miami. Soon thereafter, Mr. Keefe became President and Chief Legal Officer of Eupen Cable USA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of a 200-plus year old Belgian telecommunications company, Kabelwerk Eupen.
Over the past decade, Mr. Keefe has engaged in real estate investment and development, as well as the practice of real estate law, bankruptcy law, asset protection law and business law. In his current capacity as Of-Counsel to Archer Bay, Mr. Keefe devotes his efforts to foreclosure defense, bankruptcy law, asset protection and new client development.
Ken Keefe resides in downtown St. Petersburg with his 14 year old son, Conner. Mr. Keefe is also a licensed Florida realtor and a member of the Leadership St. Pete Class of 2004. An avid runner and a Tampa Bay Rays fan, Mr. Keefe also serves on the City of St. Petersburg’s “Mayor’s Sports Council.”
